Dental applicants are eligible to sit for the jurisprudence exam once the application and fees have been received by the Board. Jurisprudence exams are given on the date the Board meets. An informal interview follows the exam. The time will be set by the executive director and you will be notified in writing. All dental applicants will appear before the Board for jurisprudence exam and interview before being licensed.
Hygienists who are new graduates may take the jurisprudence exam at their school and are exempt from the interview. Hygienists who apply by credential review must appear before the board for the jurisprudence exam and informal interview on the date the board meets. The applicant is eligible to sit for the jurisprudence exam once the application and fees have been received by the Board. Registered dental assistants (RDAs) or Qualified dental assistants (QDAs) may take the jurisprudence exam as open book. The exam and law & rules book will be mailed to you upon receipt of your application or you may contact the Board office to have it mailed to you.
NDSBDE accepts the CRDTS, WREB, SRTA, and NERB. for dental hygiene applicants only! Dentist applicants must provide proof of having passed an ADEX clinical examination given by a regional testing service. Other clinical exams taken prior to January 1, 2008 will be accepted.
