An informal interview follows the exam. The time will be set by the executive director and you will be notified in writing. All dental applicants will appear before the Board for jurisprudence exam and interview before being licensed.

Hygienists: Those who are new graduates may take the jurisprudence exam at their school and are exempt from the interview. Hygienists who apply by credential review must appear before the board for the jurisprudence exam and informal interview on the date the board meets. The applicant is eligible to sit for the jurisprudence exam once the application and fees have been received by the Board. The time will be set by the executive director and you will be notified in writing.

Assistants: Registered dental assistants (RDAs) or qualified dental assistants (QDAs) may take the jurisprudence exam as open book at any time without having to attend the meeting. The exam and law & rules book will be mailed to you upon receipt of your application.
