7/9/2026 - You should have received the following notice via email from the ND Dental Board Office providing you with information and instructions on how to pay the $75 fee for the PHP.
Dear Dentists:
A recent change to state law allows dentists who are actively licensed in North Dakota to have access to the Professional Health Program. The PHP is designed for those who may not be able to safely practice dentistry due to a mental, physical, or emotional condition, or due to alcohol or substance use. Dentists may voluntarily and confidentially engage with the PHP, or may be ordered into the Program by the Board. All actively licensed dentists and applicants are assessed fees to offset portions of the cost of administering the PHP. Please proceed to the following page by July 17th to submit payment of the $75.00 fee. Professional Health Program Fee Payment Form - ND Dental Board.
Dentists will also be assessed a $75.00 fee each time they renew their license (the next renewal will be in the Fall of 2027), and those applying for a license for the first time will also be assessed a $75.00 fee at the time of application. One hundred percent of these fees will be used to offset some of costs of operating the PHP on behalf of dentists. None of these fees will be used to pay for any treatment a dentist participating in the PHP receives. Each dentist-participant is responsible for the cost of their own care—whether through their health insurance or other means.
