Endorsement-Pit & Fissure Sealant

Pit and Fissure Sealant

An RDA must provide evidence of education and training to receive an endorsement for a pit and fissure sealant endorsement. Once evidence of education and training are provided to the Board, a dentist may delegate the RDA that duty.

The endorsement is indicated on the RDA's registration card.  If you have received and submitted proof of training/education, and the endorsement is not seen on the registration card, please notify the Board.

How is an Endorsement Different Than a Permit?

There is not a formal application form to complete and there is n renewal requirement to maintain an endorsement.

Permits, on the other hand, generally require more training and education, and bring more patient risk. As a result, permits (e.g., restorative care, local anesthetic, Class I and Class II anesthesia) must be applied for and must be renewed at the time the RDA registration is renewed.
