MILITARY & MILITARY SPOUSES

  • The state has developed a pathway to licensure for military members and military spouses. Individuals who believe they may meet the state law’s definition of a “military member” or a “military spouse” are encouraged to review the following laws:
  •  NDCC ch. 43-51,
  •  NDCC 43-51-01(2)(5) and (6),
  • as well as 43-51-11.1.

A permit is required for the following:                                           

General Information

  • New Administrative Rules take effect 10/1/2024. 
  • Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Therapy: Upon application for license, proof of nitrous education is required to administer nitrous oxide inhalation therapy; a permit is not required. Dental hygienists and registered dental assistants are authorized to administer nitrous oxide inhalation therapy under indirect supervision. 
  • Nitrous Oxide Inhalation Therapy - ONLINE COURSE
  • Dentists, dental hygienists, qualified and registered dental assistants are required to maintain current CPR. Online CPR courses must have a "hands-on" component or will not be not accepted.
  • All applicants are required to successfully complete the ND Ethics and Jurisprudence Examination. All licensees can take the exam and recieve 2 credits for completion of the online exam. No fee is required.
  • ID: In lieu of applications being notarized, the Board accepts current identification documents issued within the last five years. Acceptable ID means a valid driver's license, U.S. passport, or identification card issued by any branch of the armed forces of the United States. Attach a copy of the identification to your application.
